“Philanthropy in the United States”
The Foundation building, located on Hanrapetutyan 37 Street in Yerevan, Armenia, was originally donated by the government of Armenia to philanthropist Hirair Hovnanian for his numerous charitable works and generous contributions that furthered Armenian statehood. The renovation work of a former two-story building began in 2006, and resulted in the addition of three more floors with nice roofing.
The construction of “Saint Anna” church, located at the intersection of Abovyan and Sayat-Nova streets in the center of Yerevan, commenced in March 2010.
The construction of the ecclesiastical complex, located at Abovyan 15, consists of “Saint Anna” church and the Pontifical residence and includes Saint Katoghike church. Consecration of Saint Anna church took place on April 30, 2015.
In 1991 two wood-processing and furniture manufacturing factories were constructed in the Gyumri region by benefactor and chairman of Armenian Assembly of America, Hirair Hovnanian. Gyumri, as a disaster area resulting from the 1988 earthquake in Spitak, was designated the location for construction of those factories.
